The Rainbow Fish

This is one of my favorite books to read to my students. I think this book has a lot of great lessons that can be learned from it. Sharing, differences, getting along with others, feelings, and making friends to name a few. It is a great story with bright illustrations that grab the children's attention. There are also many activities that can be completed after reading this story. I have noticed  my own children and my students love making their own "Rainbow Fish". If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.

  1. I have not read this book, but will definitely purchase it. The lessons you state it teaches children on differences and getting along with others are very important. I want to incorporate these subjects in lesson plans for my preschool. Children should learn early how others are different from themselves in ways such as, sex, nationality and skin color and that even though there are these differences they are all the same and can and should get along with each. I am looking forward to reading this book. Thanks for recommending it.

  2. You are very welcome! I agree with you wholeheartedly. I think it great for students to learn their differences, but it is also very important for students to recognize their similarities. Children need to learn early on to be accepting of all races. This book is just a little reminder to students to get along and share.
